That first day riding together with Nico was really cool and I remember thinking he’s “new school” but “The new school” about Nico there and then was to see someone equipped with so much skills in riding apart from just tricks

First time riding with Nico was around 2002 when I was filming new movie for Absinthe films, Transendence. His eyes were sparkling and full of stoke and energy, really motivated and spreading good vibes. The new Burton kid, we’re riding like a ninja sticking all of his landings, in a really light feet way not by muscle power. Especially in a smaller windlip with less time in the air. Getting around so smooth and riding out looking like a feather light cat you could see the skills riding natural transitions making the most of what was around us.

Switzerland and Laax resort, is his home with Europe’s best half pipe and Freestyle Park. Schooled in the pipe and park mixing it up with freeriding explain a little of how he’s all round control was so good at young age.

That first day riding together with Nico was really cool and I remember thinking he’s “new school” but “The new school” about Nico there and then was to see someone equipped with so much skills in riding apart from just tricks. It´s been great moments bumping into Nico over the years. Since first day until today, I still find him with the same sparkling eyes for snowboarding. Nicholas for me is a true friend, and also one of the most pure riders carrying the spirit of snowboarding. I see, a mix of influences from 3 generations in his riding. From legends like Craig Kelly or Jeff Brushie.

When I ride with him I can see through his love and passion into his personal style.

As a friend or riding partner he is a very nice guy who speak his word honestly so will tell you if your landing is sloppy. If so, making you laugh with funny words rhymes and quotes.

I know Freddie since longtime from Saas Fee and well familiar of his riding skills. I’ve seen him in the half pipe and also been competing several times in same events and can recall so many moments. As earning himself the Overall “The Ripper” Title at The Battle. Blasting the mega hips in front of my eyes less memorable knocking himself out at the Burton European open. Also competing in his own TTR event, the year when Shaun White won TTR World title there. Day before the event he took me with for a Cruise. And it was a nice cruisy run, except that our run went thru many cracks in the glacier. With bottomless holes. Thinking of the last place to want to be. But with a few heads up like follow me, don’t stop, and just don’t go over your nose in the most relaxed Freddie way i had no doubts that he devoted his life in this mountains. On top of it his family three is filled with generations of mountain guides.

Freddie earned his reputation among the Pros as The Ripper with precise sharp edge control. From riding icy pipes and glaciers, delivering standout video parts for over a decade. Big jumps tweaked into perfection with the style and signature for him, I would say is the control stomped and ability to land with execution. As a friend or riding partner he is a very nice guy who speak his word honestly so will tell you if your landing is sloppy. If so, making you laugh with funny words rhymes and quotes. Also a great dad with lots of love for his family finding the time to play wether it’s with his board, family, turntables or some good beats and vibes.

And so Fredi does his Bitchin’ Sauce
